BibleRef PHP Class

BibleRef is an HTML markup standard for referencing Bible verses. You can find out more information about BibleRef at the Semantic Bible website, but suffice it to say that BibleRef helps computers understand your Bible references.

I originally developed the PHP class to allow non-English speakers to reference Bible verses in their own languages and have the references automatically linked to a site like Biblegateway.com. However, I haven't implemented the code in any useful tool like that as of yet.

I started the code with some help from plugins created by Chris Roberts and the authors of The Holy Scripturizer.

The key feature of this class is the ability to add languages via an ini file. It will find scripture references in Portuguese and create machine-readable markup in the English equivalent.

The code is currently hosted at GitHub and is open source, so if you find a use for it let me know.
